Sunday meeting, Come to the light, give Jesus a chance.

.

We often hear John 3: 16, perhaps we need to hear it in a greater context 16-21.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Christ did not condemn you, you are condemned already if you do not follow Christ. The choice is yours. You have been shown an exit, the alarms are sounding, leave before the fire engulfs all around you. You can still be saved. Start toward the exit.

I have had a preacher get angry about "give Jesus a chance," he wanted instant, total, commitment. That would be nice, and better for you, but we live in a feel and touch it world. In John chapter 20 Thomas asked to put his hand in the wound in Christ's side that he might know it was really the resurrected Christ. Thomas will be with us in heaven, but Jesus said it is better to believe than to doubt.

Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Taste of the Lord, give Jesus a chance. The joy of a relationship with Jesus is beyond description, it is far better and more enduring then any pleasure.

Taste of the Lord and see that he is good.

Jesus is Lord!
